Discovered in 1967 and still the only known commercial source is Tanzania. A strong colour with a violet tint with liveliness is currently the most valuable and this gemstone has all of those qualities. It has a chequered cut pavilion (underside) which is mesmerizing to look into through the table (top). Set in a superb 18ct white gold setting with a diamond halo and trilliants.
